Former midfielder Javi García looked back fondly on his spell at Benfica, both as a player and later as a member of the coaching staff, describing the move as one of the best decisions of his career.
Speaking about his time in Lisbon, the Spaniard highlighted the personal and professional growth he experienced at the club, as well as the strong bond he built with the fans and the institution.
“Joining Benfica was one of the happiest decisions of my life. I grew a lot there, not only as a footballer but also as a person and later as a coach,” Javi García said.
The former international also praised the club’s structure, ambition, and the passion surrounding Benfica, factors he believes played a key role in shaping his career.
Javi García represented Benfica between 2009 and 2012 before returning years later in a coaching role, leaving a lasting mark on the club’s history.
